There are many interpretations of the meaning of “Satnam" - my grandmother’s name. One that resonates with me: “Sat” means truth or forever stable, and “Naam” refers to the existence of oneness.

This art show invites reflection on our shared humanity, interconnectedness and positionality across borders and boundaries. A space to engage with each other and the work of multiple artists across mediums, and a reminder of the power of gathering.

Alongside the work of close friends and artists, I will be sharing creations from my time in New York, before moving to Lisbon this summer.

Open gallery/artist praxis (both days): Gurmukh Singh, Jay Sharma, Isa Cayetano, Gurleen Kaur, Dena Igusti, Pooja Lalwani, Jacky Dang, sierrafrancesca, Rebecca Magnan, Valeria Maerz, David Aguilar, Ray Yamamoto, Ricky Sanchez, Elissa Cordero

Programming - Friday July 11: Performances by Martha and easterner, emize with sierrafrancesca, Luis Verdin, and Aunty Jay

Programming - Saturday July 12: Guided meditation by Nev Kundacina between 2:00-2:30pm, followed by performances/reading by Badawi (Raz Mesinai and Shahzad Ismaily), emize, and Aissatou

As I leave the US for a better immigration situation, I want to support immigrants in NYC that need legal support amidst the current chaos and uncertainty. All funds raised above show costs will be directed to New York Legal Assistance Group’s free legal services for immigrants in need.
